I won't bore you with the travel details of how long the flight took,etc...
One thing I will mention is that my guitar case had a 2-3cm cut in it..like it was thrown.
I was mad about that, but a close friend said, the case is there to protect the guitar-so it's ok.
Things have been weird, strange.I've been home for just over a week, seen some friends, see the family everyday.I was invited to see the "Mamma Mia" show on Saturday evening with my friend, Desiree, who provided the tickets. The show was amazing.
I'm seeing some friends who have been with me in Korea and that in itself is surreal.
Cravings for spicy food is high...planning to make a stop at the Korean store in Cape Town...to stock up on whatever there is.Might have to beg some people back in the land to send a box of goodies.
Otherwise, all things considered...I'm doing ok. Taking things slowly and going one day at a time.
Miss a lot of people and Cutey. I get the "So how does it feel to be back?" question a lot...(including " where are you from?")..I have a hard time answering that question..how does one feel? to be honest, I have no idea.
I feel happy to see gardens, Table mountain, listen to people speaking many languages.Confused, at the tv programs that have English subtitles and Xhosa, Afrikaans or some other African language in that one program. Stunned by the cost of things. Aware of the crime in the country. Surprised at the need to control and conserve electricity.(this would be another post). Feel like I have eaten too much at every meal. Feel frustrated at the thought that I don't have high speed Internet and it's so expensive here. Surprised at the animals at home. Xena is a 7 months old rottweiler puppy and she is as big a an adult dog.
These things take time, but what a journey.
Thanks to all those people who have emailed and sent so much love and positive energy.
