Little birdie..

I know, haven't posted in a week or so...and blame it on the change of weather and illness.
Last Tuesday,I had to take my bird,Green,to the vet.How hard is it to find a vet for birds in Daejeon? A nightmare.I found one by chance at Carrefour Yuseong.Dr.Yoon speaks English well and he was very thorough with examining birdie. She had x-rays,no broken bones and had torn a ligament or a muscle. He gave me meds to give her a few times a day.She didn't like that and spat it out.I made her a bed and kept her warm. She showed no signs of being able to sit on the perch, without trying to balance with her beak....hence, the bed.Meanwhile the meds, somehow went in.She was no longer in pain, but not moving much.Blue (boy) is alone in the cage.On Friday evening,I had them both flying around in the house and they did whatever they wanted.Good times.
Today I took her back to the vet. What is the problem? Why can't she move or use her right foot? Dr. said that she needs to exercise it,with my help.So now,I have to gently stretch that leg 21 times(yikes) a day.I hope she gets better soon, could be two weeks.
Poor birdie..thing is,she hasn't lost that ability to bite your fingers.

Caveman Radio

So,I remembered to take my camera with me to practice. The bar is dark and has blue lights.Curt is the band leader.Peter wasn't there.Sam didn't like her pic taken.
We have fun at every practice. We are learning some new songs and will hopefully play a show soon.
It's cool being a part of this group.I'm going to see another band perform and for once will be in the audience and not behind the mike.Have fun, wherever you are.

The bongo, makes an appearance now and again, especially with the instrumental bits.Curt plays it with the feel of an African tribesman, really. Posted by Picasa

Curt and me.He thought that this pic was "cool",no flash but the blue lights of the bar.Scary. Posted by Picasa

My favorite "san".

In Korean, "san" means mountain. While I do like the mountains here, especially Gyerongsan, which is near Taejon...I love Table Mountain. This is home, this is the first thing that you see from the plane as it descends into the city of Cape Town.I have good memories of hiking up and down the mountain, never did use that cable car.
These photo's were all taken while we were driving on the N1 highway.I just put my camera arm out the window and clicked away. That's it for now.

Must be painful to hear the traffic all the time, but people get used to it.My friend Lucinda lives next to a railway line and is so accustomed to the sound of trains. Posted by Picasa
